The Global Foundation For Children With Hearing Loss has a team of 31 stellar professionals in audiology, speech pathology, early intervention, and auditory verbal practice working in the USA, Canada, and Hong Kong who have lent their time and expertise to helping children with hearing loss around the world. One of the keys to our success in Vietnam is the clear conviction that we share that it is possible for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to reach their full potential when the right supports are in place. It has been incredibly inspiring to work with our committed partners in Vietnam to increase awareness, knowledge, and professional expertise to improve the system of support for children with hearing loss, all while blurring cultural and language divides in the process. The Global Foundation’s Vietnam Deaf Education Program is as much the Vietnamese program as it is ours. Together, we have taken accountability to improve opportunities and make a difference in the lives of so many children in this country.  Here’s a short video that highlights our vision:

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the United States featured a 5-page spread in the Sep/Oct edition of their Volta Voices magazine.  It was an honor to be included and certainly a cherry on top to have a photo of the Global Foundation’s Vietnam Summer Training Program featured on the cover.  Here’s a link to the story behind the Global Foundation, our work, and our terrific team: http://www.childrenwithhearingloss.org/documents/AGBellVV_2013_FINAL.pdf
